About Us..
The Rangely Arts Council is a new organization forming in Rangely, Colorado dedicated to the support of art and culture in our community and region.
Mission Statement:
To support and promote art and culture in Rangely, Colorado
- By supporting and promoting public art projects
- By supporting and promoting arts education, individual artists, exhibitions and performances,
- Serve as a networking body for local arts and cultural activities and organizations
How will we accomplish our mission?
The RAC will be an inclusive, member driven organization. We are currently in the set-up / organizational phase and are open to your ideas and involvement!
Some ideas we have come up with to support art in Rangely include:
- A m onthly or weekly article in the paper to educate the public about art and local arts activities
- Sponsor local shows, starting with the Septemberfest Art Exhibition, featuring members, children, and local artists
- Serve as a fundraising body to help fund public art projects and support individual artist projects
- Members host demonstrations, classes, or educational public events to open to the community to educate the community about arts processes
- Promote any local art or cultural activity using our website, the newspaper and flyers
- Have regular networking meetings to connect our members and develop new ideas and activities centered around our mission
Whose running this show?
Wendy Roberts and Elizabeth Robinson, RAC founders, are local artists interested in connecting with the other artists in the region and generating community awareness, interest and support of art and cultural activities.
We conceived the RAC as a organization that could help us do all that as well as serve as a fundraising body to support specific art projects in our community.
The RAC is currently seeking 501(c)3 nonprofit status and will be governed by a board of directors with input and support from its membership.
